What Is A Submersible Water Pump For?
As the name suggests a submersible water pump is a pump that is submerged in water in order to drain areas of unwanted water. The amount of water, how quickly it drains and how deep the pump can be submerged all depend on your model's specifications. So, when it comes to choosing the right model for you it is important that you take a look at the specifications to make sure it meets your needs.
Submersible water pumps are primarily used for moving large unwanted bodies of water such as flood water from rooms, standing water in gardens or pits, or emptying hot tubs or swimming pools. They are much more efficient and move larger areas of water due to the fact they can be submerged into the water directly.
Robust Motor
Thanks to the robust 750w motor, this submersible water pump is ideal for both domestic and professional use – all our pumps come with a durable copper motor that can easily handle debris such as small stones and twigs up to the size of 35mm this is perfect for use in dirty water as a result of flooding our outdoor water as it will not easily get blocked. Our range of MYLEK and Pro-Kleen pumps can also be safely used in clean water too.
Flow Rate
The amount of water and how quickly it can be drained depends on the flow rate of your model, so it is important that you check the flow rate is adequate for your needs. The higher the flow rate the more water it can move in a smaller amount of time. This usually requires a more powerful motor however all our 750w pumps have an impressive flow rate of 14,000L per hour! This means you get incredible professional standard quality for a great value price with a much lower energy usage so you can have fantastic performance at a continually low cost.
How Deep Can They Be Submerged?
The depth at which you can submerge your pump will depend entirely on the IP rating it holds – the IP rating indicates waterproof your electrical unit is – the higher the IP rating the further it can be submerged. Our full range boasts an impressive IPX8 rating which means it can be safely submerged in depths up to 7m (23ft) making it suitable for a wide range of jobs.
What Hose Should I Use?
To make the most of your submersible it is important that you are using a suitable hose pipe, after all, no matter how good your pump is without the right attachments it is all for nothing. It is better to choose a durable hose that will not easily tear, kink or tangle so that the flow of the water does not get disturbed. This is why we recommend the use of lay flat hoses, and to make it easier we have options available that include a lay flat hose in varying sizes so you can choose the hose that suits your needs.
